The Oyster Farmers – 69 minutes – Canadian Premiere
Dir. Corinne Ruff
A feature length documentary, centered on coastal life in New Jersey’s Barnegat Bay. Carrying the audience from the depths of the bay bottom through an epic history over the last four centuries. The oyster, offers a keyhole view of global human impact on the environment. Following the oyster from proliferation, to decimation, to resurgence, the film parallels the presence of the Barnegat Baymen working the water. The sustainable seafood movement by the Oyster Farmers is bringing the bounty back from seed to farm to plate.
